Recently, our business agent was given an assignment by the International to visit with the Indianapolis freelance community about their desire to organize. IATSE presented a brief history of the broadcast department and fielded questions from many freelancers.
The Indianapolis freelancers decided to choose IATSE to be their representatives for bargaining and organizing and recently voted in favor of IATSE representation. Local 748 is proud to have helped another freelance market take the steps towards unifying as a community.
On January 29, 2015, Anthem, Inc. (Anthem) discovered that cyber attackers executed a sophisticated attack to gain unauthorized access to Anthem's IT system and obtained personal information relating to consumers who were or are currently covered by Anthem or other independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans that work with Anthem. Anthem believes that this suspicious activity may have occurred over the course of several weeks beginning in early December, 2014.
Anthem administers the IATSE National Health Care. Anthem is offering 24 months of credit monitoring and a toll free hotline for questions you may have. For more information, please visit www.anthemfacts.com
March is always a crazy month in the valley. Local 748 wanted to offer a service to our community to help freelancers find carpools. Traffic is always a challenge and freelancers end up criss-crossing the valley and carpools always help. We have created a page where you can share the games you are working as well as see who else has shared theirs in order to facilitate carpools. We hope to have 2016 available soon.
The monthly meetings of Local 748 are held at the Musicians Hall on 12th St and Oak in Phoenix, AZ
